Injuries & Overtime

September 11th, 2008

Chicago Massive has had some tough times in its infancy.  We were doing great, showing in some tournaments and kicking ass at practice.  Then Dan blew out his knee, Josh hurt his neck, I smashed my thumb superman-ing into the Chicago diamond, and Gilbert pulled his hammie. Paintball is physically demanding to say the least.  We managed to get the rest of us out there for a practice and met Johnny and his boys, Anthony (13) & Julian (16).  Turns out they were a great, loyal addition to the squad.  We obviously needed some youth.

I took Isaac and Anthony to their first tournament @ the Wyldside Rookie 3-man.  We lost the first game in a close contest.  Next game I’m happy to say was their first tourney win.  I was trying to get Anthony to bunker the last guy but I don’t think he could hear me over his zoning fire so I did it myself.

We won one more game that day and had some hard losses. Those games taught the newbs a few things and they are playing much better @ practice nowadays.  We will be at the next Wyldside in September.

A-Train Playing Tight

Dan and I are back in, but I wear an ace wrap on the ‘ol thumb there.  We are scrimaging teams @ Badlandz every weekend.  The team practice is tough, with Shock Kidz, Arson, and others giving us lessons.  But we do win an occasional game and learn alot.

Kurt and Mark unfortunatley had to quit the team due to time and money issues.  We will miss them and all the homoeroticism they brought to practice.

Speaking of, practice is cancelled this week due to rain all weekend.  Not trying to be a puss, my gun doesn’t work in the rain.

DPO weekend

June 23rd, 2008

Well well well, lookie there the boys from Chicago are finally coming together. Chicago Massive for the first time out as a solid 5-man team take second place in the DPO Invite. What a fun packed weekend of ballin.  Ship sailed Saturday morning around 5AM and ran through Sunday. Saturday, well Saturday was jam packed with Chicago Massive, as well as Tokyo. Tokyo didn’t make it into the finals but made the valiant effort. Chicago Massive on the other hand took second place in the finals bringing home yet another W for a three-man series. Without much Delay Chicago Massive brought a showing Sunday being the Third game of the day we beat the fields home team Siege, only dropping one man. That was just the start of a great day. This is the short of it, but we are looking forward to practice this weekend.
